Souk El Zuhoor
Souk El Tayeb worked in collaboration with The Garden Show & Spring Festival to create Souk El Zuhoor, a two-day festival of colorful plants and flowers. The event took place in the heart of Mar Mikhael, Beirut, on July 3 and 4 and was supported by Taste & Flavors, Agenda Culturel and Lebanon Traveler.
Souk El Zuhoor provided much-needed positive energy at a very challenging time for Lebanon. Indeed, more than 30 small producers, artisans and florists gathered at the famous farmer’s market to showcase their products to an audience of garden enthusiasts. Exhibitors included Terraflora, Floris, Fullhouse and Art Cages.
Chadi Arabi, owner of Arabi Flowers, led a fun flower workshop on July 4, where he shared his expert advice and tips on how to care for various plants. The workshop was followed by the amateur flower competition, which was organized by Taste & Flavors and judged by Kinda Bitar, Toufic Chebib and Kamal Sfeir. Hiba Al Akl was crowned the winner. The Florist Syndicate of Lebanon sponsored both the workshop and the competition.
The organizers hinted that similar events will be taking place in the future to support small retailers. The Garden Show & Spring Festival is poised to return to the capital in June 2022.
